The Silicon Valley Leadership Group Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Carl Guardino to its Board of Directors.
For decades, Carl has been a passionate advocate for Silicon Valley and a champion of efforts to improve the quality of life throughout the region. As a founder of the Foundation and a longtime supporter of its mission, he has helped bring together business, government, and community leaders in service of stronger, healthier, and more connected communities.
Carl’s return to the Foundation in a formal governance role reflects both the organization’s appreciation for its roots and its commitment to its future. As the Foundation continues to expand its impact through initiatives that build community, support families in need, and promote healthy lifestyles, Carl’s experience, perspective, and longstanding dedication to service will be invaluable.
Among Carl’s many contributions to the Foundation was helping launch community traditions, including the Silicon Valley Turkey Trot, Heart & Soles Run, and Silicon Valley Santa Run. These signature events have brought people together in support of community, health, and philanthropy while helping advance the Foundation’s mission throughout the region.
“We are honored to welcome Carl back to the Foundation Board,” said Nadia Ahmad, Chair of the SVLG Foundation Board. “Carl helped establish the Foundation’s enduring commitment to community impact and civic engagement. His passion for Silicon Valley and his belief in bringing people together to create positive change continue to inspire our work. We are excited to benefit from his counsel, leadership, and unwavering dedication as we continue to advance the Foundation’s mission.”
Reflecting on his return to the Board, Carl shared; “I’m truly humbled to rejoin the Foundation’s Board of Directors, established in 2002 to be a positive force to uplift families throughout the region. When my wife Leslee and I founded the Silicon Valley Turkey Trot, the Heart & Soles Run, and Silicon Valley Santa Run, each under the dynamic leadership of the Foundation Board, our purpose was threefold: build community, serve families in need, and promote healthy lifestyles. What an honor to rejoin a Board of dynamic private and public sector leaders who live that vision each and every day.”
As the Foundation continues to invest in programs and partnerships that strengthen communities across Silicon Valley, Carl’s return represents both a homecoming and a reaffirmation of the values that have guided the organization since its founding. The Board and staff look forward to working alongside him to advance the Foundation’s mission and create lasting impact throughout the region.
